This book is an excellent read. However, not long into the story I realized it seemed awfully familiar. When I checked my Kindle archived items I found out why. I purchased the same book not long ago under the title “Greed.” It is still a good read but I think Kindle/Amazon should warn people when they are buying the same book twice, albeit under different titles.

Corruption, greed and justice in equal measure, October 14, 2011

Jonathan Berry, an underpaid criminal barrister, seems to live his life at the mercy of everyone else until the worm finally turns and he decides to take control of things. Delightfully inexpert at doing so – at first at any rate – he manages to drop himself into increasingly perilous situations which put his marriage and then his life at stake. It’s all about money, and his wife’s friends seem to have too much whilst he has too little. He jaunts through London – Claridge’s Hotel a particular favourite with his new ‘friend’ Kate – and then Zurich and Monaco, when the stakes become unbearable.

Berry is like an English John Grisham character: an underdog who has the ability to turn his life around, or at least, to try to do so, and hopefully secure enough money in the process to make money meaningless.

    I think it’s a solid four stars.
